The Riverside Half Caff Coffee Discovery Set brings you one 8.82 oz bag of whole bean coffee and one caddy of eight individually wrapped Pour Over Single Serves. Both feature the same Riverside coffee by Oval Coffee Roasters: a smooth, light-to-medium roast blend of caffeinated coffee and decaf, roasted in New York City.

Both formats still contain caffeine. Riverside uses an even 50/50 blend of caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee; the amount of caffeine in your cup varies with the dose, serving size and brewing method.

Two routines, the same Riverside blend

Keep the beans by your home brewer and take the single serves to work or on your travels. Compare the two cups: grind size, coffee-to-water ratio and brewing method can change how the same coffee tastes.

For whole beans, follow your brewer’s recipe and adjust the grind to suit. For a single serve, open the packet, tear the filter at the marked edge and unfold its arms over your mug. Wet the grounds, pour hot water slowly in stages and let the coffee drain before removing the filter. Keep water below the filter’s top edge and follow the pack directions, or watch how to brew an Oval single serve.

Keep both formats ready for your next cup

Reseal the whole bean bag after each use and grind only what you plan to brew. Keep each single-serve packet sealed until you’re ready to use it. Store both formats in a cool, dry place away from heat, moisture, direct light and strong odors, and follow the best-by information on the packaging.

Coffee Discovery Set questions

Does a 50/50 blend mean exactly half the caffeine per cup?

No. The 50/50 ratio describes the blend of caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee, not a tested caffeine amount in a brewed cup. Dose, serving size and brewing method affect the result; decaffeinated coffee can also retain some caffeine.

Are the single serves instant coffee or pods?

No. Hot water flows through real coffee grounds in a filter and into your mug. The grounds stay in the bag instead of dissolving, and no pod brewer is needed.

Does a Discovery Set include different coffee profiles?

Is this a good gift for someone without a grinder?
