Understanding Riverside’s 50/50 blend
Half Caff combines caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee. Oval’s Riverside is a 50/50 blend of caffeinated specialty coffee and sugarcane-process decaf, roasted light to medium in The Bronx. The blend ratio describes the coffees used; it is not a measured caffeine percentage for every cup.

How much caffeine is in a cup?
A 50/50 blend generally offers less caffeine than a comparable cup made entirely from caffeinated coffee. It does not establish an exact milligram amount or guarantee precisely half the caffeine in the finished drink. Coffee dose, serving size, the coffees blended, residual caffeine in decaf, and brewing all affect the result.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s caffeine overview notes that caffeine amounts vary and that decaf still contains some caffeine. It provides general context, not a lab measurement of Riverside.
What does sugarcane-process decaf mean here?
Sugarcane-process decaf identifies the decaffeinated coffee used for half of Riverside’s blend. It describes that component’s decaffeination method, while Half Caff describes the finished blend of caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee. The name does not mean Riverside is caffeine-free.
