How to Brew Single-Serve Pour-Over Coffee
Learn to open the filter, secure its arms over a mug, wet the grounds, and pour slowly. Filmed in Harlem, this practical tutorial demonstrates real ground coffee with hot water and a mug.

- Open and attach. Remove the outer sleeve, tear the filter at its perforation, and unfold the arms over a stable, heat-safe mug.
- Wet the grounds. Add a small pour of hot water and allow the coffee to bloom.
- Pour and drain. Continue slowly, letting water drain between pours. Remove the filter when finished.
Follow the directions on your packet. Keep each pour below the filter’s top edge.

New York City stories, original music
Bowling Green, The Natural, and Riverside launch films were produced, filmed, and edited by Annie Woo of Sweetstory Media, with an original score for each film by Dr. Jonathan Saraga. The montage brings those three perspectives together.
The launch-film shoot connects Culture Founders Barber Shop, Bowling Green Park and station, and The Battery. The brewing tutorial offers a separate practical lesson filmed in Harlem; the event films document distinct hospitality settings.

Are the single serves instant coffee?
No. Water passes through ground coffee held in a drip filter. The grounds stay in the filter; they do not dissolve in your cup.
What do I need to brew while traveling?
Bring a sealed single serve, a heat-safe mug that supports the filter arms, and a way to heat water. The filter and ground coffee are included, so you do not need a grinder, separate dripper or pod machine.
