This timelapse captures an Oval Sundays pop up at Garage Studios in DUMBO near the Brooklyn Navy Yard in Brooklyn, New York City. Oval Sundays is our recurring Brooklyn pop up series built around espresso, pour over coffee, and neighborhood community.
In Winter 2025, we hosted multiple pop ups where neighbors, regulars, and first time guests could taste Oval in person, see the craft up close, and spend time with the team in a relaxed setting. Some guests grabbed a cup on their way through the Yard, others stayed to chat, and a few even asked to take flyers back to their buildings so their neighbors could discover what we are pouring.
This day included an only in New York moment when the crew from Scott’s Pizza Tours stopped by after a visit to Il Porto Ristorante. A pizza bus rolled up with food lovers already deep into their tour, and a handful came in for Christopher’s hand pulled espresso on the vintage Italian La Pepina lever machine.

Guests flow in and out as Christopher Alspach serves espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, and pour over coffee in quick succession. Shots pull back to back on a vintage Italian La Pepina lever machine while drinks move across the counter and the room fills, clears, and fills again.
Midway through the day, guests from Scott’s Pizza Tours arrive after visiting Il Porto Ristorante. A pizza bus rolls up and a handful of food lovers stop in for espresso and a short break before returning to their tour.
